This 5 acre complex brings pioneer living on the Great Plains to life for your entire family. We've got so many fun, interesting things to see and learn that you should plan to visit for several hours. In the Museum Complex you enter a fascinating world captured through wonderful photos, unusual displays and stories of pioneers who fashioned a good life on the unforgiving plains.

Railroad Park
Discover High Plains Agricultural History
Explore antique machinery and vintage windmills in the Railroad Park adjacent to the Depot Museum.
Share ranching heritage as you view the Prairie Monument, Western Saddle Boxcar and walk back in time through the one-room schoolhouse, rail dining car and Union Pacific Caboose.

Limon Depot
Adventure is Waiting for the Whole Family!
The 1910 Limon Depot, restored and maintained by Heritage Society volunteers, is a community treasure recently placed on the National Register of Historic Places. Formerly a "Union" depot servicing both Rock Island and Union Pacific railroads, it has become an anticipated stop for tourists and a much-loved reminder of the past for the area.

Check out the old-time-store, gas station and prairie kitchen. View Limon's famous weather station and extensive wheat exhibit. See the beginnings of Limon ... Hub City of the Eastern Plains. Marvel at the full size Cheyenne Tipi and antique sheepherder's wagon.

Directions from I-70 - Use exit 359 or exit 361, go one mile to downtown Limon. From the stoplight, travel 2.5 blocks south to Town Hall. Museum Complex is immediately behind Town Hall. Look for the cool historic railroad cars in Railroad Park.
