Limon Heritage Society
The mission of the Limon Heritage Society is to bring to life the rich history of Limon and the surrounding Eastern Colorado Plains by acquiring, preserving, and sharing objects of our past. We will be a source of discovery, inspiration and life-long learning for the general public and local citizens.
This is a partnership begun in 1990 with a Colorado Initiatives grant to repair and refurbish the abandoned Limon Depot as the permanent home of the Houtz Exhibit which is owned by the Town. We partnered with numerous organizations and foundations for trees, landscaping and irrigation to bring the Railroad Park to reality. Those improvements continue with the addition of a Park Pavilion, curb and gutter along First Street leading to the Rose Garden and the Museum.
